Websites ready for AI search
Help AI assistants find you and describe you correctly.
When someone asks an AI assistant for a recommendation, it searches the web and summarises what it finds. It can only use pages it is allowed to read and can understand. We cannot promise any assistant will mention you; nobody honestly can. We can make sure your site gives them every chance.
What we set up on every site
- Crawler access: Googlebot, Bingbot, OAI-SearchBot (ChatGPT search), Claude-SearchBot and PerplexityBot are allowed by default
- Structured data for your business type, kept in step with what the page shows
- Your facts in plain text: services, prices, hours, area, phone
- FAQ sections written as real questions and answers
- A sitemap, plus an llms.txt summary of your site
- Fast pages that work without heavy scripts
What makes the biggest difference after that
- A complete, accurate Google Business Profile
- Consistent name, address and phone number across the web
- Genuine reviews on the platforms your customers use
- Pages that answer the questions customers actually ask
- Mentions on local news sites, associations and directories
Which crawler does what
From each company's own documentation, checked 22 October 2026.
| Crawler | Company | What it is for | Default on our sites |
|---|---|---|---|
| OAI-SearchBot | OpenAI | Shows and links websites in ChatGPT search | Allowed |
| GPTBot | OpenAI | Collects content that may train OpenAI models | Allowed (switch off in settings) |
| Claude-SearchBot | Anthropic | Improves the quality of Claude's search results | Allowed |
| ClaudeBot | Anthropic | Collects content that may train Anthropic models | Allowed (switch off in settings) |
| PerplexityBot | Perplexity | Surfaces and links websites in Perplexity answers; not used for training | Allowed |
| Google-Extended | Controls use in Gemini training and grounding; does not affect Google Search | Allowed (switch off in settings) |
User-triggered fetchers such as ChatGPT-User, Claude-User and Perplexity-User visit a page when someone asks about it, and their documentation says robots.txt may not apply to them.

Do I need llms.txt?
It is optional. llms.txt was proposed in September 2024 as a plain summary of a site for AI tools. Google has said it does not use it. It costs nothing to include, so every site gets one, but it is not a ranking lever.
Should I block AI crawlers?
That is your choice, and you can change it in settings. Note the difference: GPTBot and ClaudeBot collect content for training, while OAI-SearchBot, Claude-SearchBot and PerplexityBot fetch pages so the assistant can show and link them in answers. Blocking the search crawlers can keep you out of those answers.
Does Google need special markup for AI Overviews?
No. Google says there are no additional requirements and no special schema needed. Pages must be indexed and eligible for a search snippet, which is what good structure and clean text give you.
Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend my business?
No. Anyone who guarantees that is guessing. What we control is that your site is readable, accurate and easy to cite.
